Artist's Statement
|
I believe the inspiration for great art comes from the innermost, deepest feelings of the artist. Below the surface there are inner truths which, for me, can best be expressed through visual art. When I find and purge the passion of these truths through paintings, I am satisfied to present these paintings to viewers as an aesthetic experience. My sincere gratitude for my mentors in my progression from oil painting to watercolors and acrylics--and now, into mixed media and abstracts. These wonderful artists are Chrystal Jackson, Lorraine Miller, Carole Myers, Andrea Peil and Professor Arthur Towata of the Cameo Group Workshop in St.Louis, Missouri. My gratitude also to James Godwin Scott for his continuing inspiration as I read through my notes from his classes. |
