What kind of art do I do? Besides my role as a Gnomologist, one of my more recent projects was
called "THE GREAT PIPE DREAM" see valweb.org for the great pipe dream This project started by involving 22 Christchurch schools in making or creating 3 meter high sculptures from waste PVC piping. After an exhibition in Christchurch in July last year seven of these sculptures were invited to be exhibited in the Lincoln centre NY Jan this year with pipe sculptures from USA and around the World. We raised the finances needed and flew the works over to New York. Since then the sculptures have travelled around New Jersey with the support of Judy Wray VISUAL ARTS LEAGUE. Pipe sculptures continue to arrive in New Jersey from kids all around the world. THE DREAM CONTINUES to grow Young people don't complicate things and this project is a good example of international sharing in creativity MY SITE artcar.co.nz |
