When Dave Mazsa, Science teacher at Rutgers Preparatory School(RPS), Somerset, received a Geraldine Dodge Foundation grant to support Earth Watch, he was unaware that his investigation of the coral reefs off the coast of San Salvador would be the springboard for a mural."Coral Reef" is a 10 foot X 3 foot mural designed by the RPS Art Club, art teacher Nancy Roselli and Dave. It will be exhibited in the eclectic art show "Fish/JAM" at the Cork Gallery, Lincoln Center from November 18-November 30. Several area artists as well as students from South Brunswick High School will also participate in this show.

Dave desired artwork that would spruce up his biology lab and the result was a collaboration between the art and science departments. The students used photos and books from Dave's trip to create the collage-applied mural over a two year period.

"Fish/JAM" is a project of the Visual Arts League, a non-profit, charitable arts organization which takes global creative energies and gives them focuss in varied projects, such as exhibits, mural projects, and the internet.
